Abstract

The aim of this paper – to find out the peculiarities of teacher‘s psycho-emotional state and its relationship with characteristics of professional activity. In the study psycho-emotional state as a multidimensional variable is characterized by four main components: mental health, self-control, anxiety and stress levels. 100 secondary school and gymnasium teachers participated in the study. They were divided into two samples: creative ones and not- creative ones. Four methods for self-assessment have been used in the study. Hypothesis is verified using mathematical statistics – χ2 criterion. The study data presented in the paper reveals that the psycho-emotional state of creative teachers is significantly (p<0.05) higher in comparison to not-creative colleagues. The levels of mental health, stress, anxiety and self-control was significantly (p<0.05) higher for creative teachers.
