Abstract

Low grade verrucous squamous cell carcinoma that may affect the skin, the anal and genital mucosa, and mucosas of the oral and pharyngeal region. Appearance of skin cancer in light exposed locations is the outcome off different pathogenic factors – mainly ultraviolet radiation. Verrucous squamous cell carcinoma is highly curable in early stage (T1 and T2). More advanced tumors often have risk of lymphnode metastases. We describe case of T2 facial verrucous squamous cell carcinoma in nasal area: an exceptional location for this type of tumor, treated with interstitial (high dose rate – HDR) brachytherapy – an effective radical treatment method for this type of cancer.
