THE EFFECT OF BLUE LIGHT BLOCKING SPECTACLES LENSES FOR DIGITAL ASTHENOPIA

This systematic review evaluated the impact of blue-blocking (BB) spectacle lenses on digital asthenopia, considering 9 relevant studies published in the last de­cade. While two studies indicated some effectiveness of BB lenses in reducing symptoms like eye pain and heavy eyes, others did not show significant differences compa­red to no-block (NB) lenses in various eye strain symp­toms. Overall, the evidence lacks conclusive support for the effectiveness of BB filters in alleviating digital eye strain (DES) symptoms, emphasizing the need for more standardized and comprehensive research in this area.
