Summary
The aim of the study – to determine the need, importance and benefits of the mostly searched health information on internet by community pharmacy patients. 360 patients were surveyed by using a questionnaire in metropolitan, urban and rural community pharmacies. Major problems faced by respondents in finding health information online are undigested information and controversy (23%). Results showed, that information found on the Internet sometimes causes doubts to the majority of the respondents (73,7%). Information found on the Internet is more often discussed with family and relatives (47%) than with health care professionals. It was found that, the information found on the Internet affects patients further treatment decisions.
