Acute testicular torsion is a frequent and dangerous pediatric urological emergency and can result in the loss of an organ. Unfortunately, it is often diagnosed too late, when testicular salvage is impossible. According to our results ultrasound investigation is indicated in cases of diagnostic difficulty and may help in evaluating efficacy of the nonoperative detorsion.
