Abstract

Woman after childbirth may face mental health problems. Onaverage, 10-20 percent. women experiencing postnatal mentaldisorders. The aim of this research is to analyze the determinantsof psycho-emotional state of the postpartum period.Material and methods. Survey was conducted using quantitativemethod. Data analysis used a statistical software package „SPSS17.0.1 for Windows”. Sample size: n = 99. The study populationconsisted of women who gave birth within one year period.The results of the analysis prove that the overall group ofrespondents most women often felt anxious without reason andworried. Depressive symptoms depended on the place of residence,education and employment. The analysis of women’s knowledgeof the psycho-emotional factors on postnatal depression showedthat less than half of the women had depressive moods beforechildbirth. Women’s postpartum depressive symptoms were relatedto the expression of pregnancy planning, complications duringchildbirth, infant feeding method. The analysis of family influencefor postnatal depression, revealed that the expression of postnataldepressive symptoms influenced by the partner ‘s / men’s absenceduring childbirth.
