Abstract

The topic about eating disorders is actual, but at the same time a relatively closed topic. In the case of eating disorders, generally refers to anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Anorexia is less common, it affects around 1 percent of population, bulimia nervosa are much more common – it affects around 5-7 percent of populations. A nurse, like as a teacher and as a health educator, the quality of work defines activity, in order to contribute to the welfare of patients with eating disorders, improving their health, forming a correct opinion about the nutritional characteristics of the health of the body, physical activity, dealing with health issues. We raise these problematic questions: With what kind of problems the patients with eating disorders are facing? What impact these eating disorders have to patients‘ health? How the patients evaluate the nurses‘ activities in providing knowledge and shaping eating skills? The work aim is to analyze patients‘ with eating disorder opinion about nurses‘ activities in shaping eating skills. The survey methodology. A quantitative study using a questionnaire survey of patients. Were interviewed n = 100 patients, undergoing X eating disorder center. The results were calculated using mathematical statistical analysis with computer spreadsheet (“Microsoft Office Excel 2013‘‘). Results of the study. The patient with eating disorders identified the most frequent eating habits: they feel that diet manage their life; they with horror think that may have overweight if they will eat sweets; they constantly thinking about food; after eating the food they vomit; they try not to eat, although there are hungry; after eating feels very guilty; they divides food into small pieces; they often take a different diets weight reduction; use laxatives, diet pills or diuretics to control their weight. Conclusion. The most common health problems faced by patients with eating disorders are: persistent vomiting, insomnia, nervousness, constant hunger, weithing permanent, continuous interest laxatives products. Patients‘ opinion is that the nurses activities is not enought in this field and they evaluated only 6 points – satisfactory.
