Abstract
Breast cancer is one of the first most commonly diagnosed typeof cancer in women and also the most frequent cause of cancerrelateddeath in Lithuania as well as in Europe. The sentinel lymphnode biopsy is established to be a ‚golden standard‘ in breast cancersurgery. Since the survival rates of breast cancer patiens are gettinghigher, the quality of life becomes the main aspect in breast cancertreatment. Klaipeda university hospital Breast surgery departmentperforms the largest amount of breast operations in the Westernpart of Lithuania.
